Folarin Falana popularly known as (falz the bahd guy) is one of Nigerian cosmic artist, rapper, songwriter, and actor, born on 27th October 1990 in Lagos, south-western Nigeria to a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi and Funmi Falana. He completed his elementary and secondary education at St. Leo’s Catholic primary school Ikeja and Olashore International School Osun State respectively. He also graduated from the University of Reading with LLB honors in Law.
His musical career began in secondary school when they formed a group called “The School Boys” with his friends before his professional career began in 2009. While in secondary school he released his mixtape titled Shakara:The Mixtape. He came into the spotlight with song tittled "Marry Me" featuring Poe and Yemi Alade which got him a nomination for the “Best Collaboration of the Year”category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Falz released his first studio album on May 30 2014 titled "Wazup Guy" which received critical acclaims among music critics. On November 17 2015 he released his second studio album titled Stories That Touch.
He has also collaborated with many artists like M.I, Phyno, Reekado Banks, Simi and many others. He won “Best Actor in a Comedy Movies/Series” at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice awards for his performance as Segun in Funke Akindele’s TV series Jenifer’s Diary. On 27 October 2016 Falz collaborated with Simi to release Chemistry, a seven track EP produced by Sess.
On 23rd September 2016 he became an Ambassador of betting Company Merrybet
On August 2015 Falz signed a multi-million naira endorsement deal with Nigeria Telecommunication giant MTN
Flaz described his music style as “Wahzup Music” The fusion of comic lyrics and a faux Yoruba accent with funny punchlines makes him outstanding from other rappers. On November 18 2014 he was ranked #9 on notjustok’s list of “The Ten Most Gifted Rappers in Nigeria 2014”. He currently owns an independent record label called Bahd Guys Record.
